questionoftheday asks: What was the strangest thing you ever believed as a child?

My answer:

I used to think that if I was giving myself eye contact in a mirror that someone or something would be able to see me from somewhere else. If I were changing and there was an unavoidable mirror, I would avert my gaze so that nothing could see me. As for the origin of this weird belief, it was just a feeling I got. I don't have a defining event that led to this. I don't have that feeling anymore but once in a while I am reminded.
